| Success for AHT's first Breed Club Open Day. |
July 2010 |
Nine different breeds were represented by 16 delegates at the charity’s open day where spcialist AHT staff took them through three lectures. There was also a tour of the small animal clinic.
Subjects included canine genetics and inherited disease, canine cancer and oncology research as well as eye disease in dogs.
“It was an excellent day with top class speakers,” said Sally Kimber of Coachbarn Beagles. “They explained in a way I could understand how the money raised by many breeds is being used for research into genetic mutations, the possible cause of a number of inherited conditions.
The Trust is hosting two more free open days this year on: Thursday, September 2 and Saturday, October 16.
