NEWMARKET EXPERIENCE TOURS 2010
|
|
'Unique' may be an overused word but in Newmarket's case it's quite appropriate. Newmarket is recognised as the home of not only horseracing but thoroughbred breeding and training. The training grounds extend to 2,500 acres with 50 miles of turf gallops and 14 artificial tracks. These are used daily by over 2,500 horses in training with 70 trainers. In addition, the area has 62 stud farms with over 50 stallions and 1,750 brood mares.
A third of Newmarket's population works in the racing or breeding sectors.
There is nowhere else quite like it and the Newmarket Experience offers a one-stop shop to discover and learn more about the area's fascinating background, history and relationship with the racehorse through its growing group tour portfolio. New this year are dates for two tours for individuals.
There are full-day, half-day and bespoke tours available through Newmarket Tourist Information Centre on
01638 667200 or newmarketexperience.co.uk.
